Why Children?
Why Children? Because out of our world’s 2.2 billion children, over 1 billion live in poverty.
Because 22,000 children around the world will die today, most of them from poverty, hunger, and easily preventable diseases. Because Jesus said, Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me (Matthew 25:40).
Children’s Relief International is a Christian non-profit organization that brings aid and compassion to children in poverty around the world. Through supporters like you, we provide food, shelter, medical aid, education and love to the poorest of our time. We bring hope to the hopeless by sharing the message of Jesus Christ.
Children’s Relief International partners with native leaders who are passionate about helping children in the name of Christ. We send American missionaries, short-term teams, and interns to serve under and alongside these visionaries.
From our efforts we seek four outcomes:
• Growth of the Church:
Our work among the poor is intended to carry out Christ’s Great Commission. Our feeding, helping, teaching, building, and healing programs build into local churches by showing Christ’s love in tangible form.
• Care and Education of Children:
The best way to help poor children is through providing a Christian education. We teach the life skills necessary for the child’s survival alongside the truth of God’s Word. Our children develop into Christian adults who have competence to fare well in society.
• Skills for Work:
The focus of our aid is not job creation because our funding will always be limited. Instead we enable the poor to acquire the skills necessary to find decent jobs.
• Rise in the Quality of Life:
We all have a value and dignity that cannot be attained where hunger, sickness and fear are present. The children in our programs eat and dress decently. They laugh and play and learn. They look like they are loved. As far as possible, we help their families and community achieve a better quality of life.
How you can help:
• Donate: 90% of every donation goes directly to benefit the children our projects support.
• Sponsor: Just $40 a month will provide a child with food, education, medical care, and hope for the future.
• Fundraise/Promote: Help us build a home, drill a well, or provide a microloan. Without supporters like you, our work to help children in poverty wouldn’t exist.
• Go, See, Help: Witness first hand the issues affecting these children by joining a short-term team or being part of our internship program.
