Kaleba Project

John and Maria Lawrance desire to follow God’s call to spread His Word to the poor of India and to train others to do the same.

Along with their daughter, Jenita, they are developing a children’s ministry, planting churches and training pastors. Both John and Maria recently graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with a Masters of Theology.

John describes their motivation for serving God below:

As we seek to minister among the poor and needy, we are encouraged by Christ’s example. Though he is the Son of God, he became human. Though He is rich, he identified himself with the needy and poor. He is perfect but ministered among imperfect people. He gave up everything to save mankind.

In my country one in every three children are malnourished. India contributes 40% of the world’s child trafficking. This country has about half a million child prostitutes, and  25 million children growing up on the streets. We see so many who are spiritually and economically deprived. They starve for food—both physical and spiritual . It is Christ who shows us how to work among them.
