Children’s Relief International

The Story

In the early 90s Alan & Melody Pieratt packed up their kids and belongings and moved to Brazil. As missionaries with CBInternational, they took over a ministry to street kids in the center of Sao Paulo.

These children stole for food and bathed in public fountains. They were hated by the local merchants and tormented by the police. To carry out such a difficult ministry, the Pieratts successfully partnered with several local Brazilians who had a heart for these kids. It was here that CRI’s two-fold approach to missions began: 1) We focus on the poor. 2) We carry out our work in partnership with native leaders.

Today Children’s Relief International takes Christ to the poor through eleven different ministries.
