The Mayatima Project
"Mayatima" is the Swahili word for orphan. There are plenty of them in Kikuyu county, just west of Nairobi. There are an estimated 4,000 children who have lost one or both parents. Our project helps these children through a foster care program. Working with local Kenyan volunteers, we place children in homes and help support them and their host families. That support comes in the form of child sponsorship, a farm that produces eggs and milk, and a medical ministry that give special attention to the children who have AIDS.
Would you consider sponsoring a Kenyan child orphaned by AIDS? See our child sponsorships page for more information, or see our donate page for ways to help.
