We visited the Rajah Children's Home in March and took the kids on an outing to the park. We all had a wonderful time! It's only because of our sponsors that these children can enjoy being kids. They go on field trips, live in a beautiful home, eat nutritious meals, and are getting a great education. Sponsors you are making all of these sweet childhood memories possible. Thank you!

What a Difference!

I visited our Mudpaths pre-school in a small village outside of Kolkata, India for the first time in October of 2011. I was impressed with how much the children were learning—their ABC's and 123's along with stories from the Bible, songs and Bible verses. But I particularly remember this one little girl, because she looked so unhealthy and so sad. You can imagine my surprise and excitement when I visited the pre-school again recently and saw a dramatic difference. Take a look at the lovely young lady with the red clip in her hair. That is the very same girl. Can you believe the change? Since my last visit this little girl, and all of the other children at our Mudpaths pre-school, have been receiving a nutritious lunch twice a week through the generosity of our donors. Some of these children are eating meat and vegetables for the very first time! A healthy diet makes a huge difference. Our hope in the coming year is to raise funds to provide meals for these kids 5 days a week. Can you help? Click here to provide meat and veggies to our kiddos! Click on Give to Our Projects and select Mudpaths Children's Ministry. Thank you for wanting to make a difference!

Ayo is 4 years old. He has two brothers and two sisters. He is a peacemaker among his classmates, and he is eager to learn at school.  Blessing’s birthday is coming up soon. She will celebrate her 5th year of life.  Blessing loves to play with her dolly. At school, she is behind  the other children in her grade, but her teachers are confident she will catch up. Monika wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Monika’s father died in a work related accident. Her mother could not afford to send her to school. Now Monika lives at our Rajah Children’s Home, along with her sister. She is thankful to be studying in school, not working in the fields alongside her mother. These three children each have different stories, but they have something in common too—they are all newly sponsored! Because of our generous donors, Ayo, Blessing and Monika will have the opportunity to  gain an education. They will be fed, clothed, and taught about the love of Christ. They have the chance to break free from the poverty that binds one billion children around the world. A special thanks to our new sponsors! If you would like to change the life of a child like Ayo, Blessing and Monika, visit our sponsorship page to learn more.

Meet Meri
Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012, No Comments »

Meet my new friend, Meri. I got to know her recently during my first trip to India. What an impressive little lady. She was so eager to practice her English with me. “Miss, what’s your favorite color?” “Miss, look at my drawing.” “Miss, I like your bracelet.” She smiled and posed for pictures, and then giggled with her friends when I turned my camera for her to see. She has come a long way. Before Meri came to CRI’s Rajah Children’s Home, both of her parents worked in a field. With two incomes, they could provide two meals a day for their family. They could survive. But when Meri’s father fell ill, her mother became the sole provider. The family began to acquire debts at the local shops and could only afford one meal a day. Even after the debt collectors emptied their home of belongings, they still owed money. Meri’s parents heard about our children’s home and asked for help. They wanted her to have food, shelter, clothing, an education—things they could not provide for her. Now Meri has all of those things, because of others who stepped in to help—people like you. Now she smiles and giggles with her friends, she eats well, she goes to school, she wants to be a teacher. Meri has hope for a future free from poverty because of her sponsor. Thank you! If you would like to help a child like Meri, please visit our sponsorship page.
